Minnesota for Marriage ROAD TRIP!

Minneapolis – Today, Minnesota for Marriage has its newly designed RV packed and ready to go! Minnesota for Marriage staff; a guest speaker known nationally for his work promoting marriage and the family; and plenty of buttons, t-shirts, and materials will set out today from the Twin Cities on a Road Trip around the state over the weekend.

“We could not be anymore excited to hit the road and meet fellow supporters of traditional marriage in Greater Minnesota! With the metro area and gay ‘marriage’ lobbyists trying to force gay ‘marriage’ on the majority of Minnesotans who want our state’s marriage law left as it is, we are ready to help Minnesotans around the state connect with their legislators in St. Paul,” said Crystal Crocker, Minnesota for Marriage’s Director of Grassroots.

“The fact is—the gay ‘marriage’ bill erases the terms ‘bride,’ ‘groom,’ ‘husband,’ and ‘wife’ from our state’s policy and even says that ‘mother’ and ‘father’ should be ‘neutral’ terms! Furthermore, the bill does nothing to protect individual religious liberties and rights of conscience for Minnesotans who believe that marriage can only be the union of one man and one woman. This isn’t right, and Minnesotans do not want this bill passed,” she said.

The Road Trip will include two weekends during which Minnesota for Marriage will host “Stand for Marriage” rallies in communities around the state. At each rally, Minnesotans will stand together in support of our state’s law defining marriage as between one man and one woman—and also encourage their legislators to do the same by opposing the gay “marriage” bill.

Supporters of traditional marriage will hear from leaders from their communities, Minnesota for Marriage staff, and, at some Road Trip stops, be treated to live music provided by local talent. Guest speaker Glenn Stanton, Director for Family Formation Studies at Focus on the Family, will also address supporters.
