This fall Minnesotans will be called to stand for God’s good and loving design for marriage with the Marriage Protection Amendment. As pastors, our involvement must not simply be “political” but rather centered on the gospel. Likewise, even though it is of utmost importance for the church to vote yes this fall, we cannot pretend that our work as pastors and churches will cease when the election passes. Simply having a good amendment passed to protect family, church, and society is not enough! The broader culture of marriage in our state must be built up and furthered through the ministry of the gospel after November, and we pray that you will join with us in this great task before us.
