Minnesota For Marriage Coalition
Relocates Booth Inside State Fair
St. Paul, MN– Minnesota for Marriage, a broad coalition of community and faith leaders and organizations supporting enactment of the Minnesota Marriage Amendment – which will preserve marriage in State law as only the union of one man and one woman, and prevent politicians and judges from redefining it – announced that it has relocated it’s booth from in front of the Church of the Holy Childhood to inside the Minnesota State Fair.
“We are delighted to be on the Fair grounds and expanding our dialogue with fair-goers about why the Minnesota Marriage Amendment is needed, said John Helmberger, Chairman for the Minnesota For Marriage coalition “We’re off to a great start. Dozens of volunteers have stepped up to staff our booth, talk with voters and recruit fellow supporters to help pass the Minnesota Marriage Amendment next year.”
“Initially, our coalition could not secure space inside the fairgrounds, so we set up just outside in front of the Church of the Holy Childhood,” said Helmberger. “Thankfully, we have been able to secure space inside the fair itself, and are now set up at Underwood St. and Wright Avenue, positioned directly under the Wright Avenue sign.”
The relocated State Fair booth is staffed by many Minnesotans who are part of the growing Minnesota for Marriage coalition. It includes volunteer sign-up opportunities, information about the 2012 Marriage Amendment ballot initiative and the importance of preserving a vibrant marriage culture in Minnesota, and opportunities for visitors to share their personal stories on what marriage means to them.
Minnesotans unable to visit the booth can learn more about Minnesota for Marriage and how to get involved by visiting the coalition’s new Web site: www.MinnesotaForMarriage.com.
